We are still at it. Posting 10 photos on the 10th of the month. February. Sheesh. Already? and to top it off I thought today was yesterday. It does not pay to wait. Lesson learned. So I picked up my camera and shot. dog.food.laundy.walk. rinse repeat.  I have been busy planning, designing and making a few changes.  Stay tuned for that.  I’m sending out a newsletter and everything.

I am so glad to have our friend Rachel Devine playing along with us. Scroll down and you will find a link to her 10 on 10 goodness and a review the Minox cameraover at photojojo’s. Good times!

i love when an image just stops me in my tracks. usually they are the photos that happen naturally when the photo session has taken a back seat to real life.  it makes me happy that the real life happenings far out weigh the photo session happenings these days.  and while it’s always nice to have one or two “pile em up” photos for posterity i just find that there is far more more soul in the workings of real life. tears and all.

i want to take you to a special place where lasting friendships are made, guards are let down, trust is established, and provide  for you heart felt imagery that will stand the test of time, fads, and technology.  my clients are unique and love stepping out of the box.  they have their own style and don’t seem to care what others think. they are outgoing. they are shy. they are confident. they are sassy.  they are down to earth. they are sweet. they are straightforward….and they truly hold a special place simply for the uniqueness and unconditional love they manage to bring time and time again.

are you bold enough to be boring?

Aseel - Beautiful post, Amy! Yet another great image. There is power in simplicity, and it shows up in your work.

lazy susan | february 2012 – foods we love

Here we are in February already!! What better topic for this month other than foods we love and nothing says Valentine’s Day like chocolate spicy sausage! Ok,  I am only a teeny bit sorry for yanking you out of decadence that is Baked Bree but do not fear you will back into the land indulgence with Sara and her homemade pizza.  I assure you, I will be all over that one. It’s all about balance right?

I am almost embarrassed to claim this as a food I love but it is seriously so true. When I am not drinking fresh squeezed juice or a green smoothie for breakfast this has become a favorite.  I am totally guilty of craving it. It definitely satisfies that savory craving with way less fat and calories than say….biscuits and gravy…and gives you a good amount of energy that sustains you through to lunch.

ingredients:

  • 3 1/4c. water
  • 1 cup – Bob’s Red Mill – Gluten Free Mighty Tasty Breakfast Cereal
  • jennie-o turkey sausage

the following are to taste:

  • 1/2 tsp – onion salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • sprinkling of cayenne (optional)
  • tabasco

method:

  • brown the sausage on medium heat and sprinkle with a little cayenne if you like some kick.
  • add the cereal to boiling water and stir in then turn burner down to low, cover and stir occasionally (about 10 minutes)
  • once the cereal is done add the onion salt, pepper, and tobasco
  • cut sausage into disks and stir in

When there is left overs it is really good with an over easy egg on top. I know it sounds crazy but don’t knock it until you try it.

I have to thank the boyfriend for this recipe.  He manages to get me to like things I would otherwise say um, no thanks.

Amanda - Spicy sausage, who knew? Wonderful photos yet again!

Shannon - This actually does sound good. Ok, you were right :)

temecula maternity fine art photographer | just one

I photographed this beautiful mama with her first little girlie almost three years ago!  Her previous maternity session was shot in Murrieta in the spring so we decided my backyard in Fallbrook would be a nice change up for a winter session.   Brother is on his way in just a few weeks and this little get together marks my 4th session with them.  Looking forward to the fifth when little guys arrives.  I adore growing with my repeat clients and it’s nice to know that I’m doing something right that making want to return again and again.  It’s what I always said I wanted my business to look like and am so thankful for their loyalty.  I have a few more I would like to share but this one just screamed for the spotlight.

Let’s play the game again…..30+ comments and facebook shares before their gallery goes live will take home a complimentary 5×7 on me.  So spread some love and shower this mama with your lovely sentiment.

michelle - What a beautiful shot!

Shannon - Holy mackerel! That’s gorgeous. Nothing like your backyard sky and a pretty mama.

Alex McDonald - STUNNING!!

Edna Concepcion - Big Wow for this pretty Mama and beautiful background!! We love you and your family of four!! (well, soon to be four!) ♥ ♥

Ashley Hansen - LOVE the picture. Want to see more asap!
