Loving all of the green grass in Southern California right now. It was perfect weather the other day at Jessica Claire’s workshop. It was nice to get together with a like minded group of photographers, fellow headband fanatics and Ketchup fiends from all over the country. Certainly a great bunch of people. Of course we all share that common thread of being photo junkies and it’s pretty safe to say we all had a great time and learned a thing or two. Drop dead gorgeous across the board with Styling by Duet Weddings, flower arrangements by Kate from Flowerwild, and our super cute couple Lindsey and Braedon. You girls rocked it.

Thank you Jessica for opening up your studio and home to all of us and sharing how you roll so willingly and openly. Also, Michael and Jeff Norwood for the super tasty home cooked meal and Becker for making an appearance and being the character he is. It was nice to see you all.

I am finally getting a chance to blog the amazing time I had at Style Lab. I was the lucky winner of a contest held by the wonderful and amazing Amy and Jocey of The Wedding Chicks for a seat at Boutwell Studio’s Style Lab Workshop. I am willing to admit that I left a mind boggling 303 comments on The Wedding Chicks blog. It was a battle between and about 10 other photographers and once I got going I couldn’t stop. I was totally determined and I won! Thank goodness because that has nut job written all over it. It was totally worth it and it’s easily the best thing I have ever won. It would have been worth every penny if I had paid for my seat. I can’t give away all the secrets however I will divulge that the willingness to share a plethora of great information in a down to earth manner was thoughtful and inspiring. The amount of effort and detail put into the event was impressive to say the least and I am super thankful for the opportunity to attend.

It rained and it rained HARD! Lucky for us the clouds broke and we seized the opportunity to go out and play a little. We were in the eye of a category 1 hurricane in Orange County, CA of all places! The land of ocean breezes and 300+ days of sunshine I’m talking down pour mixed with sideways rain, thunder, lighting and a tornado watch. All that and we hardly skipped a beat.

It’s safe to say that Chenin is a tough act to follow but here are a few of the images I snapped of all of the vintage inspired goodness. You can see Chenin’s take on the event here.

Day two was exceptionally beneficial with a no holds barred Q&A session with the whole gang along with some down and dirty Photoshop work with the mastermind behind Totally Rad Actions. Thanks Doug. It was a great chance to meet other industry professionals both locally and nation wide. There were even a few fabulous Canadians among us.

Through all of the pouring rain, thunder, lightning, and tornado warnings I would consider this nothing but a success. Thank you all so very much!
