loved this session.

I have a lot to say and share. It just seems to be season where I am building, planning, and doing what artists do. Creating. I don’t necessarily intend to captivate you with words but rather with real images of real people, doing real things.

I hope you are all having a great fall and that you enjoy this new little series of mine. That was then, this is now.

I got a call. Mama was dilated to 5. My thoughts of swinging by starbucks and grabbing a pizza for the troops quickly turned to…..”Please God, I know I don’t talk to you often enough, but how about a little slow motion action on their end until I get there? What-do-ya-say-big-guy?” Temecula never seemed farther away and within 10-15 minutes of my arrival this session quickly found it’s way to the very top of the list for how high I felt with a camera in my hands. Craziest natural high ever. What I didn’t expect was how hard it is seeing somebody that you care about in so much pain. It quite literally sucks the air right out of your chest. It seemed to override any worries of blood or other medically inclined incidences that might occur.

It was such a surreal and amazing experience and while going through the images it hit me all over again. The adrenaline in the room was off the charts. It was go time and the camera shook in my hand a little and quickly went into work mode. As the nurses bobbed and weaved in and out of my shot was nerve wracking. Thankfully the nurse moved around to the foot of the bed just in time for the shot.………and I got it! unbelievable. When I first asked her if she would let me blog said shot…..I got shut down….just as i suspected. I totally understood. A month or so passed and once mama’s toosh healed she was all for it. What a champ! Thank you very much for letting me share this most excellent experience with you and then again with the Internets.

Sweet little Mia has made it into this big world and is lucky enough to have an instant best friend. My little pal Ethan is officially a big brother and a very sweet one at that.

May has proven to be a very busy month and I am up to my eyeballs in editing so I am going to keep this short and sweet but thank you for looking and leave this family i love working with oh so much some love.

How could I pass up a Grateful Dead reference? Love his name!

Sweet Olivia returns! and this beautiful mama is still getting acquainted with her new world for the second time. Liv is all grown up and knows exactly what she wants to do and new baby Ryder was not part of her agenda. I was so proud of her for taking off her grumpy pants and allowing herself to become part of the action. The poor little buggers just have no idea what’s coming at them when mommy explains….”there’s a baby in there.” Sounds all fun and dandy until their world gets rocked. and then I show up. Funny little people.

I just love this family and now that I have been doing this for almost 4 years I am finding that I am literally growing with these families and documenting their lives. It’s quite possibly one of the coolest experiences ever. I love being trusted with a backstage pass and to be invited more than once makes my heart all puffy. Relationships are formed and the photos come from a more invested place. The comfort levels just grow over time and I truly believe it brings a different kind of richness to the photos that can literally be felt. Loving it.Hope you do too.

Fallbrook Maternity Photographer | Country Girl

When this beautiful mama to be from San Diego contacted me to shoot her maternity photos she told me she was a country girl at heart and loved color. I’d say she came to the right place. Fallbrook is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Southern California and it amazes me that most people in Orange County, San Diego and other surrounding cities have never heard of it. I am so thankful to call it home.

This little girlie is the sweetest baby girl I have ever come across. No joke. Don’t let these sleepy sweet shots fool you cause she gave all of us a run for our money. Wide awake, alert and not wanting to be disturbed, she was spunky at 8 days old. It didn’t stop me from wanting to take her home though. I have the feeling she takes after her mama. It’s always such a pleasure to work with T and her family. I shot the whole clan a few months back. You can see some of those photos HERE.

Congratulations Teresa, Phil and the whole clan. She’s perfect.
