Earth Day | Orb Element – Review • North County San Diego Photographer

I know this is a happy la la photo blog but it’s Earth Day and since we have only designated ONE measly day of the year to this cause I am just going to spit it out. Let’s face it… whether you believe climate change is caused by humans or just it’s the natural process of our planet going through cycles there is no doubt in my mind that we, as humans, have an impact here. The older I get the more I believe one person can make a difference and a team of people can change the world.

edited to add: I do not endorse Orb element. I do however think these bottles are FANTASTIC. Orb Element….not so much. I If you would like the same bottle straight from the official vendor please visit the Seychelle website.
the rest…is history.

Proof: I met Lance, CFO of Orb Elements, at the avocado festival here in Fallbrook last Sunday and after talking with him for about 3 minutes I was sold. You should have a few of THESE on hand for day to day use and/or in your emergency kit. They are good for about 1000 gallons of fresh water with a replaceable filter. His team sent a bunch of fresh water relief to Haiti and they are now working with world and local governments to spread the word. We are talking major major impact here people. I don’t know about you but finding myself somewhere fresh water is unavailable is a frightening thought. Call me paranoid but there was a 7.2 earthquake less than a 2 hours drive from me a couple of weeks ago. Water is the most basic of human needs and if it doesn’t scare you….it should. 3 days without and you are as good as dead.

So, I waltzed off water bottle in hand and to test it out I filled it up with gas station water. Ya know…from the hose where the air is. YUM! It was an awesome dingy yellow color and I am sure it was pretty foul. It came out clear and tasted better than most bottled water I have had. Impressive! We are so used to having clean drinking water readily available at any given moment the sheer thought of having to drink tainted water is unfathomable. The truth is…it can happen…to any of us…at any time.

So beloved photography community of mine…. Help me spread the word. Hop on over to twitter (or use the little pop up box below) and follow @orbelementH20 and RT your little heart out. Orb Element Int. is based out of San Clemente, CA is well known in government and private sectors and is now reaching out to the general public! The twitter account is brand spanking new via yours truly so when it hits 100 followers the first bottle will be sent out. Winner picked randomly of course!

Let the tweeting begin!

Changing gears….because we all need something visual….This video makes my heart swell at the thought of having the ability and the freedom to grow our own food. My heart stops at the thought of what might happen if food is unable to be trucked in from far off places. Get a little closer to nature and plant some food. Visit your local gardening center and get started. It’s time.

Happy Earth Day. Today. Tomorrow. Everyday

xoxo, amy

Lance Garrett - Fantastic article. Orb Element receives emails and calls almost daily from people all around the world expressing how valuable there Orb bottles are. We are in constant communication with Missionaries in Haiti and the locals about how the Orb filtered bottles are their livelehood. Please help our environment and yourselves to fresh clean, safe drinking water from any water source, (yes- that means rivers, toilets, lakes, swimming pools, and the good ole tap!)
