This is one of those posts that I stare at the text and really have no words. For once. I.am.speechless. and my petty misfortunes are put into perspective with blunt force. I chose Joe and Lisa as one of my winners for a complimentary session in the Not Boring? Prove It gameshow. They happen to be one of my very first clients that I didn’t already know personally. They’re awesome smart people and I dig em. Their babies came 2 months early and…..well…… this is Joe’s entry
Amy- you know my family well. Lisa delivered twins this week, Thorton McKinley and Soyara Nicole. We were delighted to have the new additions. Unfortunately, Thorton was born with a congenital heart defect. He was rushed to CHOC Orange for emergent evaluation. After four days on life support and a complete evaluation, we were informed that he was not likely to survive. We removed the life support, and Thorton died in my arms while rocking him. I recited the book “I Love You This Much”. Our daughter, Malia, whom you have photographed, continues to ask when is her little brother coming home. Lisa and I have discussed how we are going to explain this to her. We decided that anything that we find beautiful in life will be a remembrance of baby Thorton ie a butterfly, waterfall, or a bright star. Amy, we know you capture a lot of beautiful photo’s that will be treasured for a lifetime. That will be a Thorton remembrance! My new little daughter, Soraya Nicole, whom remains in the NICU awaits your talent. We are NOT BORING!!
I knew instantly I wanted to do this for them. Hello Baby.
Friends and family please do feel free to say hello. 30+ Comments and I will give em something special.
I found this scarf at Target and had to have it. On sale even! With different fabrics and exploratory processing the whole feel of this session is a little out of my box.. That makes me happy.
Joe & Lisa – I hope you like them so far. It is good to see that you are doing well and I am so glad to have shared some time and a few laughs with you. I am still thinking about that eggplant sandwich and I can not stop staring at these images. Malia is as gorgeous as ever and I got a few great shots of her.
