Gina got me for her birthday. She’s the pretty lady in blue. It sounds funny to me but I have to admit I am still pretty flattered by the whole thing. Thanks Mike. (and Tara) Hopefully it will catch on…Honey, what would you like for Christmas? A new Coach bag? The entire fall line of the Lucky Brand catalog? A trip to the Grand Canyon? No Shmoopy, I really really really want a boring photo. In this case it was a birthday surprise. It made my insides happy.
I liked this family a bunch from the time I entered their cozy little shared beach house. For generations (beyond the 3 that are pictured here) they have been coming to Balboa on the Newport Coast from all over the country. Talk about a good time. The kids took me to one of their favorite spots a few houses down. Snail Park. I was an instant fan. From that point on it was as organic as I could bend myself. I was trying to channel Miss Tara Whitney. You see, Tara sent these guys my way. Why? Because she’s cool…and she was booked…or scared of 17 people. I myself was scared of 17 people but hey, I like chaos and I brought my pal Jen for reinforcements. Stay tuned for her blog post.
The adult siblings.
…and all of their kids.
Snail Park.
The amazing thing about this session and these kids is I didn’t really do any posing. They did these things all on there own. I would turn around and there they were. Getting along so well. Just lovin on each other.
The youngest of the girls. She thought the bikes were really cool.
I seriously love this shot. sigh.
We were just being super silly with the fish eye. I am so very guilty of loving it even though I am not a huge fan of the shirt pulled up over your belly kind of thing. By the way… there is another boy inside makes 4.
More fisheye love of Kendall and the famous “Balboa bar”
I feel like I could just keep posting and posting photos but I am going to end here. I have tons of photos for you. Totally worthy of a part two.
Ok. One more. It really was a good time. Happy birthday Gina. Your gift materialized. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Balboa.
30+ comments and throw in a few extra 5x7s. So, go tell all of your friends to come say hi. Oh, and I’ll travel! I haven’t been to Texas or Colorado in a while.
