My oldest brother Richard and two of his boys flew into town as a surprise for my birthday. Well, an attempted surprise. I was all geared up to go up to San Fransisco to meet up with some fellow photographers and some family. Then I got the phone call from my sister complete with a “don’t tell mom.” I am sure my friends up north think I am the biggest flake at this point. It was my second attempt to flee Southern California for the streets of San Fran. It’s Richard’s fault but I was so happy to see him! It was long overdue.

I took all interested parties out to the train (the two little ones are my sister’s) and when we got home put the camera on the tripod for some interval timing photos in my parents back yard. Fun. It was pretty dark at this point and I can’t say I would put a family on lawn chairs pool side in the dark but this is how we rolled. My other brother Michael couldn’t make it. I am hoping to get up to Washington soon!

The nuts sign was Richard’s idea. d
