25 Random Things About Me, Myself and I

Yup. I have been tagged. I think 3 times. Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged.

Here it goes.

•I am the youngest of 4 with 12 years between me and my oldest brother. I am clearly the baby of the family.

•I grew up playing soccer. From 6 years old until I was 18 and then I just wanted to do other stuff. I miss it.

•I love to dance. When I was little I wanted to be a gymnast but I was told I was too tall. Probably true but I think I would have been good at it. I used to make a balance beam out of scotch tape in the living room
and I could do a cartwheel on a real balance beam because of it. Fancy huh?

•I am a 4th generation Californian and have full blooded Cherokee Indian great grandparents but not enough to get college funding.

•After September 11, 2001 I went on a month long camping trip all over California. It just seemed like the right thing to do. Hey we were supporting the State Parks.

•Just after that I lived in Arizona for 6 months. I got Shryner there and learned that some people just don’t like people because they are from California. Hey it’s not my fault you are from North Dakota and Arizona is as far as you got. Is that mean? I went home to finish school.

•I like cheese….probably too much.

•I don’t drink much at all. I don’t like it. Beer is gross and drunk people smell. I think I am allergic to wine and the mere thought of any sort of hangover just completely turns me off. I do like a Lemon Drop Martini or 3 every once in a while. Vodka is the only thing that doesn’t completely gross me out. Oh and Baily’s and coffee…and a I am also a fan of the white russian.

•I prefer salty over sweet and have never been much of a desert person. I do like dark chocolate. The darker the better.

•I was a camp counselor in Maine in 1999 where I lived with ten 10year old girls and taught ceramics all day everyday for 3 months. My girls are all about 20 now and keep in touch with a few of them through Facebook. I met one of my very best friends there. She was a Maine local and now lives in Austin. I see and talk to her pretty regularly. I think that is pretty cool.

•I am tall. 5’10″ I don’t mind it but pants are never long enough and it limits my choices in men and shoes a bit.

•My creative side really started to show when I was in high school. I always liked play dough and painting and stuff but I never thought I would be an artist. I wanted to be an astronaut. ya.

• I have always been afraid of Tsunamis and any sort of large wave, I prefer fresh water of salt water and am not a fan of sand at all…..and neither are my cameras.

•I don’t have cable. I haven’t watched much regular TV for a year. When I do watch TV the commercials are always a bit of a shock to my system. I get my fix of Grey’s Anatomy, Dexter and LOST on the internet.
That’s about all I watch. I do miss the food network and the discovery channel and stuff.

•My parents are still married after 47 years and I was fortunate to grow up in a good environment with my own bedroom and a swimming pool.

•I hate liars. Why? Why do people lie? I just don’t get that.

•I am honest to a fault sometimes and tend to tell people what I think.

•I prefer small gatherings of people. Too many people is to much energy for me. Unless I am working…then I am ok.

•I can be shy and quiet at times. It’s true. I can also be outgoing and silly. Depends on the situation and the people.

•I think it is important to be able to laugh at yourself and accept criticism.

•Artistically speaking I was pretty decent at most things I tried in college. Ceramics, crafts, jewelery, oil painting and life drawing I was pretty good. Staind glass, video, installation, illustration and drawing…eh not
so much. Photography I LOVE and design does not trail far behind.

•I bit my nails really bad up until about 9 months ago. I did however go off on them while driving back from Las Vegas last week.:(

•I loathe green peas, meat loaf, and pork chops. It’s a loaf of meat. No thanks. Other than that I am pretty open. Love Sushi and anything spicy.

•I am a pretty good shot with a shotgun and I can hit baseballs at the batting cages. I don’t hunt and I don’t really care for baseball but I like those things anyway.

•I am wondering why I haven’t gotten any entries for Giving is Awesome. What? No one in Southern California knows anyone that deserves a free session? That can’t be.
