In 1998 I was in college and working at a preschool in Anaheim Hills with 2-4 year olds when I was asked to transfer to elementary school to take over a class of 1st graders and run the after school art program for K-6. I soon found out that the previous teacher left because she could not handle the class. She lasted all of two weeks. Nice. I managed to stay the entire school year and it was the most challenging thing that I had ever done up to that point. There is no possible way that I can deny that those kids gave me something special to take with me into the future even if it was unknowing at the time. To think that those kids are now 17 years old just blows my mind. Long gone are the days that I taught them how to read a clock, tie their shoes and count change.
This little guy was so cute and took me right back to that place 10 years ago, but rather than dealing with 22 of them, I just had him. Time moves so quickly. Capture it.
