two dogs and a pair of love birds

I ventured out to Monrovia to photograph Mike and Angila at her grandmother’s house where the their wedding will take place Spring of 2009. Upon my arrival my camera decided to take a flying 3 foot leap right out of my bag on to the concrete below. Not really an ideal way to start a session. “Hi, I’m Amy it’s so nice to meet you…I just broke my camera.” Nice.  To all aspiring photogs: This is a perfect example of why you need a back up camera. The initial shock of my Nikon’s bloody LCD injuries wore off and we proceeded to have a great time. Their quirky pooches Fred [the little guy] and Chevy just added to the good times. You two you are incredibly cute and I can’t wait to present the rest of your gallery.

Dana Point Wedding | sneak peek part duex

I’ll be the first to admit shooting a wedding is a completely different ballgame than what I am accustomed too.   A big thank you to Gina and Jeff for trusting me with your special day. You have a wonderful family and held a truly wonderful series of events. Everyone in attendance was fantastic and it was obvious to me that a great time was had by all including myself. You two are a perfect example that true love can be found the second time around. Congratulations to you both!

Images of the rehearsal dinner event can found here.

Newport Beach, CA | Family Portraits

What we have here is a jumping, tossing, splashing ball of love. This family of six from Newport Beach had some energy!  They kept me on my toes and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Kids are amazing little balls of energy with their own ideas of fun aren’t they?  They transform and shape the session by putting their own little hearts and personalities out there.  It is my job to get their little spirits to shine and capture it as you know it for you to remember forever. A big thank you to the little people for trusting me and allowing me on the inside after spending such a short time with them.

I hope you enjoy your little glimpse of what is to come.

Holiday Mini Sessions Dates & Information

Ho! Ho! Ho! You have no idea how difficult it is for me to wrap my brain around the holidays in September! BUT…. we can all agree that something special and unique must be planned out in advance right? Ok… with that said. I am here to take you from your shiny floppy 4×8 snapshot holiday cards that get shoved in the drawer never to see light of day again to custom holiday card bliss. Your friend’s and family’s chins will collectively hit the floor when they open your yearly holiday card and sigh with love and admiration upon sight of your beautiful family. On top of that how can you beat one stop shopping that supports small local business… and keeps you away from the mall….Hallelujah.

I am going to start out with two dates with FOUR spots each day. If the response is what I anticipate I will need add on more dates if I feel that I can take on more. Space is limited. Quality reigns over quantity for me and I have other sessions as well. You are also welcome to sign up for a full session for a wider variety of prints to choose from. The focus is on getting that family photo and sessions will last about 20 minutes for each family. Short. Sweet. Fun.

The Details:
Session fee: $75
This is due at the time of booking to hold your spot and is non refundable. 5 immediate family members each additional $15.

Dates & Location:
Saturday October 18, 2008 - Corona Vicinity
Saturday November 1 - Fallbrook

If there is an interest in OC location leave a comment and I will add a date if there is a demand.

Time slots will be as follows: (This may change slightly depending on sunset time)
3:30
4:00
4:30
5:00

Regarding Locations: I am pretty set on the Fallbrook location. It is beautiful and if you like nature you won’t be dissapointed! If anyone has ideas for the Corona area please chime in. Some options: Irvine Park, Yorba Regional, or Oak Glen.

Cards:
5×7 or 5×5 folded cards are press printed on heavy card stock and are available in boxes of 25 with envelopes. One design. The front will feature a full bleed custom photo of your choice and will be suitable for framing. On the inside a personal message and choice of an additional photo (or two depending on the format).

**After much debate I decided not to do templates because for me it is all about the photo and the family.  While I love snowflakes and holiday paraphernalia  people are not going to frame that.  I am shooting for longevity here.

Pricing:
25 cards per box. Envelopes included.

1 box -     $75
each additional box $50

Ala-Carte  print prices will also be made available to you for your own walls or as gifts for those close to you.

Please see the website “a boring style” section for wardrobe suggestions.

Holiday Sessions MUST take place before November 15 and ALL card orders must be COMPLETED by December 1, 2008 to ensure delivery.

I believe this concludes the longest post in the history of the blog. I will update as needed if I missed anything. Ok. Done.

Thanks,

Amy Boring

Sneak Peek | Dana Point Engagement Session

The happy couple invited me to shoot their wedding in Dana Point as well as the rehearsal dinner/beach party the day before. I do not claim to be an event photographer and I am always up for new challenges so I accepted. I appreciate the trust that was given to pull off such an important schedule of events. Everyone was great and it was beautifully catered and decorated by a close friend of theirs! Such a great group of people to be surrounded by for two evenings. I have a ton of images to sort through and edit. Stay tuned for the wedding sneak peek.

As always, 25 unique comments from friends and family and I’ll throw in an extra 5×7 on me.

Enjoy!

Two Dates Left For September!!

September is almost full.  Two spots left.  I am currently booking for October and November as well and am pretty confident that I will be booked solid from the amount of inquiries that I have received lately.

As summer winds down and the holidays draw near and you start to think of what you may want to give to loved ones for the holidays.  Why not schedule a session and do some one stop shopping here with me.  Not only will you be supporting local small business but it will truly be a gift from the heart and one that will be treasured over time.

Reminder - Holiday session deadlines are as follows:

Sessions must take place by November 15th and orders placed by December 1st

I will be posting some of my holiday card templates soon as well as mini session dates that will focus solely on that family photo for not only your holiday card but but for your walls as well.

Stay tuned.

Many of you have asked about the handsome hound at the top of the blog and my website.  How rude of me….I have not properly introduced my canine buddy Shryner. Truly girl’s best friend.  Just a snap taken at dog beach in Huntington Beach, Ca.
